CONSENT LAB

As a practical part of my master thesis „Consent practises in touch-related dance forms“ I am offering a research project with the focus on how to ask for consent when getting in touch with each other. Using Betty Martin ́s book „The wheel of Consent“ as our starting point, we will work around the following two questions:

How do you want to touch me?

and

How do you want me to touch you?

We will practise verbalising our desires and boundaries that are connected to touch and talk about different strategies on how to transfer the practise of consent into a non verbal Contact Improvisation dance. We will ask questions on how we can listen to our inner voices rather than to social codes. We will practise how to give and receive with heart and honesty rather than giving and receiving out of politeness. This weekend is a research lab. We will try, discuss and apply. This Lab is open for all people that are curious about touch. Participation possible only for both days. Bring a pillow and a blanket.
