Andrii Punko was born in 2001 in Tchernihiw (Ukraine).
The first approach to dance was in 2008 when he joined a ballroom dance club just for an after school activity. Soon he realized that dance is more than a hobby. Andrii took part in different international Ballroom Dance competitions around Ukraine and later the world. He has been doing both ballroom and latin dance for over 10 years in total.
In 2016 Andrii entered Kyiv Choreographic College where he started his ballet education. He performed in the Kyiv National Opera House, Odessa National Opera House participated in dance tours to of Switzerland, France, Germany, Belarus and China.
He took part in classical ballet performances as Swan Lake, Nutcracker, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Scheherazade.
Since 2019 Andrii attended the bachelor dance program at University of Music and Performing Arts in Frankfurt am Main. He developed his ballet technique to the next level, and substantially improved in the contemporary dance and improvisation.
During this time he collaborated with choreographers as Dieter Heitkamp, Jean-Hugues Assohoto, Kaya Kolodzeichyk, Cameron McMillan, Marguerite Donlon, Katja Cheraneva and Isabelle Schadt. .
In the summer of 2021 he worked in the new interdisciplinary production “And when we change…”, set by Robyn Orlin. The performance was presented in the cultural festivals of Weimar, Erfurt and Hannover.
In February of 2022 Andrii has made his own Material called „One of a Billion“, which was performed in Gallus Theater. The Performance was based on dystopia ideology and typical life in post-soviet countries.
After Russia invaded Ukraine (24.02.2022) he decided to prolongate his piece and set the second part called „One of the Billion. The Other Day“ in order to attract attention of European citizens to the war.
